Prologue
Pax!
My name is Laurie and I am a late convert from witchcraft to Catholicism. I am a wife and mother to five. Three are deceased and two have grown up and made me an empty nester recently. I create content about the Catholic Faith and my journey through it. I have joyfully found myself within Benedictine spirituality. After my conversion om 2021 at the age of 44, I volunteered in a few different ministries. I learned much about the Faith being involved in so many ministries, especially OCIA. At this moment in time, I am just being and seeing where the Holy Spirit leads, whilst being a part of a non confrontational deliverance ministry within my diocese and studying herbalism.
What’s in a Name?
A website has to be called something right? Awhile back I wrote about how I really loved Unicorns for a time, as a child. In that post I talk about how I would grow up to discover that in Medieval Art, a Unicorn was a symbol of Christ. Unicornis is the Latin for Unicorn. I just like how Unicornis sounds and is an elegant and traditional reminder of where all true healing comes from as well as where my focus should be.
Mission
Having left the diverse world of occult practice with its false promises of empowerment and healing, I now know where to truly find those things. There is nothing more empowering than claiming my place as a beloved daughter of God. There is no spell more powerful than surrendering to Christ!
The mission of Unicornis is to explore ways of healing spiritually, physically, mentally and emotionally through the lens of the Catholic Faith. We will explore many ways to do this including but not limited to: maintaining a healthy spiritual life by keeping the five precepts of the Church, healing and deliverance; herbalism and other forms of natural medicine; ways of nurturing and restoring family and community; restoring mental and emotional health by all the ways mentioned above but also with a focus on digital minimalism.

How to Interact with this Site
There are no comments sections on this site. Instead each post will contain a ‘Respond by Email’ button at the end of it. Yep! We are going old school! I would truly love to hear from you!
I also maintain a BuyMeaCoffee account if you would like to support my writing endeavors.
I also maintain a Bookshop.org account with book commendations that you can buy from independent bookstores. I do receive a tiny commission when you purchase through my bookshop.org storefront.
A Word About Privacy and Social Media and YouTube
I am using Swish.Ink to host my blog and Buttondown to host my newsletter. Both are light on tracking.
I am NOT on any social media sites as of this moment. I maintain ONE Facebook Messenger account for communicating with family and friends. (I would rather text or send emails but most people I know prefer communicating via Facebook’s Messenger App.) For those who don’t know, you can have Facebook Messenger, WITHOUT having to use Facebook itself.
I am no one special but somehow or another I do have people who have hacked and or cloned older Facebook accounts. None of those are currently me even though they have my face, name and personal information and photos in them.
I have YouTube separated from general social media as it seems to be falling under the category of ‘Search Platform’ these days. I do have a YouTube Channel that I am possibly going to be creating content for in the future. I will write about it if or when that finally happens.
